Students plugged carrots into the frame of a door at the Ministry of Education in Turin, Italy, to protest cuts to educational funding and austerity measures on October 12, 2012. The carrots were chosen to answer Minister Francesco Profumo's statement that students need the carrot and the stick in a reference to inducement and punishment.
