Revenues Down, But Radio Was Up Slightly
JOURNAL COMMUNICATIONS has announced results for its fourth quarter and full year ended DECEMBER 25th, 2011. The company reported radio revenue was up 2.4% excluding political, issue and Olympic advertising revenue.
For the fourth quarter, revenue of $95.0 million decreased 8.3% compared to $103.7 million. Operating earnings of $14.2 million decreased 24.6% compared to $18.8 million primarily due to lower political and issue advertising.
For the full year, revenue from continuing operations of $356.8 million decreased 5.3% compared to $376.8 million. Operating earnings of $39.8 million decreased 25.0% compared to $53.0 million.
