Question by : Is this a good gaming computer setup?
I?m looking to build a computer to play WoW, Diablo 3, and maybe Star Wars: Old Republic.
I want to be able to play at good detail with good frame rates. Will this setup work?
Motherboard: ASRock 970 Extreme3
CPU: AMD FX-4100 3.6GHz quad core
RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws X series 16GB
Graphics: EVGA 01G-P3-1566-KR GeForce GTX 550 Ti
HDD: SEagate Barracuda 7200RPM 500GB
Wireless Card: Rosewill RNX-N360PC
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate
Power Supply: 500W included with the case
I don?t want to spend much more than $ 800 because I?m not that hardcore into gaming, just tired of running low frames on low settings. Any feedback on this setup would be nice. Thanks in advance.
Ok changed the graphics from the GTX 550 to a Sapphire Radeon HD 6850, it was about the same cost. The 16GB of ram is because its not much more than 8GB and i don?t feel like upgrading later, also it is 1600 speed. The wireless is because the ethernet cable to my room is long and goes to my xbox too. The modem and the wireless card both support 300Mb speeds over wifi so I?m not worried about that. Windows 7 ultimate is only around 90 dollars on ebay. 500W power supply should easily run a 127W graphics card and a 97W processor, the rest of the setup will be nowhere close to 300W and this case has good reviews, not complaining about bad power supplies.
